I’ve got this feeling I’m siding with Abraham How could God ask him for his precious son? You’ll have to forgive me but I just can’t understand This talk of protection seems way over done I suppose you were younger and a whole lot more sensitive You thought maybe people were putting you down You needed attention and some reassurance And Abraham seemed like the right guy in town Who am I to say what motives are possible Who am I to question what others have done But the big guy in charge should act much more responsible And leave off this pushing the little guy….. around Now how can you tell me that Job was deserving Of all that he went through now what’s up with that? There was never more loving or faithful a servant And all that it got him what to be treated like crap Who am I to say what motives are possible Who am I to question what others have done But the big guy in charge should act much more responsible And leave off this pushing the little guy around I just can’t get over what God did to Abraham How could he ask him for his precious son?

When worlds collide An accident of fate The rising tide The unexpected wave Recoiling from the force To leave the tell tale trace So deep inside When worlds collide When souls entwine In answer to our prayers The fruited vine Enough for all to share The unfamiliar ground Where once the soil was bare To lose but find When souls entwine All life is life and life is all we know The hand the knife to soothe or cut the soul Our part of this arrangement We must take control To avoid estrangement From the whole When hearts are steeled The caging of the love It is revealed Just what we are made of We owe it to ourselves To release the held dove To seek to heal These hearts of steel The heart the mind Which plays the larger role Will ultimately define our life’s goal To realign the arrangement Of these opposing poles And strike a balanced placement Of your soul To seek to find…

You’re standing by the road You’re sticking out you’re thumb You waiting on a ride to take you to the place you wish you were from You’re standing on your own There’s nobody in sight You putting all your hopes on an angel of mercy to aid in your flight Just waiting for change by the side of the road Just hoping for change by the side of the road There passing you right by You’re breathing in their dust Apparently your not looking like somebody they think they can trust The sun is beating down Your dreams all melt away You think you see your life bearing down and you’re trying to get out of the way Just waiting for change by the side of the road Just begging for change by the side of the road You hope somebody’s gonna stop here soon You hope somebody’s gonna stop here soon You hope somebody’s gonna stop here soon Cause your life’s up and left you with those empty bowl blues Your money’s almost gone You’ve nothing left to lose But still you stand around like you’re afraid you gonna put some wear on your shoes The sun is going down It’s the end of the day But still you put your hopes on an angel of mercy to fly you away Just praying for change by the side of the road Just begging for change….

Its just a matter of time Fore the sun goes down And the reason and rhyme Have finally moved out of town And a murder of crows Signals the final hour I will see my life In a moments rush To the edge of time To fall beneath the crush Of the weight of my sins As the darkness closes in Then I’ll tally the score And ask myself What was it all for And I’ll hear them say There goes another man Who makes his way Doing the best he can But you can just hear the sound The little kernel of doubt They will follow me down To a hole in the land And they’ll sprinkle their words And brush off their hands And they will hope that this seed Remains dormant and sleeps When they tally the score And ask themselves what was it all for

In my way I’m a sentimental fool Longing for the days gone by I was made with a penchant to be cruel Taking pleasure in an eye for an eye So satisfying all in a day I put my savior down So terrifyingly sweet to the taste Retribution Hell’s own angel White lightning sets my soul on fire Bless my soul I’ll blow your mind away I am armed with the hand of God A messenger to kill, a flame, I am charmed, sparing not the rod. A weapon used to still, to tame I know its all just work in a day I don my savior’s crown So hypnotizing the eyes of a snake My delusion Your worst nightmare White lightning sets my soul on fire Bless my soul I’ll blow your mind away In my way I’m a sentimental fool Honing all my tools of the trade A bit insane, maybe you’ll conclude Another prophet barred at the gate You can take the key and through it a way But you can’t keep a good man down I’m the mirror you put to your face Your conclusion A bit unstable White lightning sets my soul on fire Bless my soul I’ll blow your mind away

Why Oh Why 04:30
Since we climbed down from the trees and started walking on the land We’ve been looking for some answers to what we don’t understand We’ve been picking and been prodding and dissecting constantly and now we’re shooting subatomics at the things we still can’t see Why oh why, why oh why, does the sun rise in the morning and then shoot across the sky? Why did dinosaurs roam round this land and then just up and die? We keep asking the big questions why oh why? Archimedes took a bath one day when he was feeling dry Isaac Newton watched for apples that came falling from the sky Galileo, Darwin, Curie, Carl Sagan and Einstein All kept asking the big questions why oh why? Why oh why, why oh why, does light travel at the same speed at 15 or 55? How come you can see the people 'fore their sound finally arrives? We need answers to these questions, why oh why? The human body is a marvel, you can’t deny The way my stomach can get nervous and feel just like butterflies From the aching in my back to my receding hairline I hope they perfect all those transplants so I never have to die Why oh why, why oh why, if I bite cold ice cream with my teeth I feel it in my eye? Or is it so hard to tell the truth but so much fun to lie? It is for this we ask the question why oh why? There’s so much that we have learned from watching other critters die It's just inspiring to recall all the advances we’ve come by Reaching up towards the heavens we now can blow ourselves sky high Its all these facts that beg the question why oh why? Why oh why, why oh why, do we spend billions on big questions while some barely can survive? Is there nothing that’s too crazy that we won’t give it a try We keep looking for big answers why oh why? Life was once seen as a miracle a twinkle in God’s eye We were the center of the universe the highlight of the sky Now we’ve reduced ourselves to just a tiny part of the whole pie That leaves the whole race asking if we’re here then why? Why oh why, why oh why, now that we’ve done away with God the only God we see is “I” What has become reality was all once just some weird sci-fi. We’ve all forgotten what’s the question why oh why? Why oh why, why oh why, are we never feeling settled never feeling satisfied? If we ever get to heaven will we still feel we’re denied? When God looks down does he ask himself oh why? Why oh why?

Here Today 03:41
Every moment we live we are born Every moment we live we must die Such is the condition we must face together Such is the condition we must face alone Not yet is tomorrow and gone yesterday No other existence We are Here Today From a settled past we are torn Into an uncertain future we must fly Such is the weight we must carry be it a feather Such is the weight we must carry be it a stone No matter the sorrow or joy on the way Along all this distance We are Here Today

Home 06:13
My Affection For My old friends I’m testifying I am saying amen It sanctifies my soul My happy dancer My hero boy These precious moments of sorrow and joy They sanctify my soul Though I am but a traveler I have found a home I have found a home Sunlight shining Down through the trees On a winter’s morning with the snow dancing in the breeze Sanctifies my soul The muddy seasons The still of night The songs of earth that play deep within my mind To sanctify my soul Though I am but a traveler I have found a home I have found a home Nothing could be planer to my mind Nothing keeps me saner in my mind This is my foundation no matter where I roam, no matter where I roam Digging ever deeper in our lives I am a true believer in our lives A calling to the faithful bringing us back home we have made a home The feelings many The words must fail All explanations in comparison will pale To what is in my soul We walk together Throughout our lives To bring us back to this moment in time To sanctify our souls Though we are but travelers We have made a home We have made a home

You gave me your email your fax line your phone You gave me directions for the way to your home I sent you a letter I drove in my car I found on the internet right where you are There’s nothing to hard to tracking you down Got so many ways to check on your health But I still can’t get in touch with myself I called you on my cell phone but reception was poor The note in the bottle didn’t make it to shore So I sent you an email but it came right back That old mailer Demon knocked me off the track That fax on my troubles it never got through I’m surrounded by devices and gadgets and wealth And I still can’t get in touch with myself Hold on, Hold on, Hold on, Hold on I dialed up your number the other day And then when you answered I had nothing to say So I put through your window a note on a stone The lights were all on but there was nobody home I sent you a message by telegraph line I FTD’d flowers to put on your shelf And still I can’t get in touch with myself Hold On… Still I can’t get in touch with myself.

Listen Clear 02:56
Everybody now listen clear There is something that you’ve got to hear A dedication of life for all Answer quickly when you get the call Sign your name upon the role A celebration to lift your soul Gather everyone within the fold Tell the stories that must be told Find the truth that’s there to see In the faces of humanity Take it easy now and set your pace You are running with the whole human race In the morning you enter the fray You’re beaten down by the end of the day You need some comfort all along the way You may be blind but you can see You may be silent but you can speak You may feel weak though you are strong You may be right but still feel wrong You may feel lost but can be found When the walls come tumbling down You hear the knocking that you can’t ignore You know you gotta come and open the door You think you need to but you can’t be sure

They got detectives and put out a reward They called the police and the National Guard They closed the borders but it still got a way Wanted a ransom they could not afford Sent out an aeroplane to search from above Everybody’s lookin’ for love They formed a posse and took to the trail They tapped the phone lines and read all the mail They combed the country to search for a clue Questioned the prisoners in all of the jails Dusted for fingerprints while wearing kid gloves Everybody’s lookin’ for love Talked to the army and the head of state Got on the talk shows had a TV debate Got lots of theories about where it’s gone They called on experts to describe its fate Sent out a message tied to a dove Everybody’s lookin’ for love Priest and lawyers, Cops and robbers, Peace corps workers, air force bombers, Union maids and corporate pawns Has anybody seen where love has gone? One day the president talked to the press To calm the country with his confidence If love is out there then you can be sure My group will find it with support from Congress He got all the branches in all of the government Out there lookin’ for love Meanwhile inside the University They got computers and laboratories They mixing compounds and splicing some genes They filling beakers and test tubes to see If they shoot it with lasers and sciency stuff Maybe they can isolate love Professors, shoppers, pundits, paupers Politicians, big show stoppers, Imams, Rabbis, The Holy See asks Where oh where oh where can my love be? Inside a building on the edge of town They drew conclusions of where love could be found Next time they catch it it won’t get away They’ll keep it hidden locked up gagged and bound Won’t even share it with their great God above Everybody’s hiding their love

Lost 03:56
There is no downtime In the factories of fame The machinery of culture Keeps on chugging on night and day No cause for disturbance No need for restraint We all have our reasons We all have our rationalizations Just look at all the legions The constant acts of desperate relations Taking hope from meaningless wonder Grasping at straws and images But we get more than we bargain for lost in these dreams Yes we get more than we bargain for lost in these dreams Watch the forest fall Without making a sound Take another curtain call There is no final bow You can declare your innocence Pontificate with rage There is no perspective In a world of only two dimensions How can we take corrective Measures if we can not focus our attention We are pulled on by this force That we choose not to resist And we get more than we bargain for lost in these dreams Yes we get more than we bargain for lost in these dreams Oh lie a lie a lie, a lie a lie a lie Oh lie a lie a lie, a lie a lie a lie Why not cut the cable? The umbilical of doubt Why run from the stable When the horses can’t get out? Be sure to turn the lights off If you’re the last one out These delusions from this fever Hallucinations and mirages in the sand It takes a true believer To march along lock step with this plan When the river’s waters flood You can dream you’re on dry land As you’re sinking in the mud You can deny the helping hand But you’ll get more than you bargain for lost in that dream Yes you’ll get more than you bargain for lost in that dream

This I Know 03:11
This I know As surely as the break of day Though the rivers wide we’ll make our way This I know And our stories Will live to tell another day Drawing lines of time upon this face This I know Bridge All these fears - bridled, broke, and shod All these tears - an offering to God As we go Keeping heart to heart and soul to soul Gathered all around we’ll share this load. This I know And these hands Alone will knock up against the wall Join them all around we’ll watch it fall This I know Bridge Though the road may be steep and worn Still the load together can be born Take this man Look down deep into his eyes Just the same as you he lives and dies This I know Take this woman Walk a mile in her shoes Just the same as you she’ll pay her dues This I know Bridge Take this child gently in your arms Hold her close keep him safe and warm. This I know As surely as the break of day Though the rivers wide we’ll make our way This I know This I know………….

Walk On 02:08
Heaven help me my oh my Earth below Above us sky Got to get going make my way I‘m not waiting on the judgment day Lord have mercy on my soul I’m not waiting for the bell to toll Wade in the water And do what I can Knocked down by the waves Get up and stand and Walk On Left foot, right foot do that stroll Won’t let no devil take away my soul Step on out, do that thing Pick up the beat Won’t you hear me sing Its one for freedom Two for love Three for the truth Now release that dove Set my sights across this land Pick a direction the best I can and Walk On -Bridge- Times I feel like woe is me Only one judge who can take my plea There’s some days I’ve half a mind Turn right around and leave it all Behind me and let go my hold The road to heaven’s not paved with gold Keep on steady between the lines Stop when I need to and read the signs Till my stories all been told Gonna take that rough less traveled road Got to step out make my way Can’t wait around for the judgment day Walk On

Emma's Song 05:07
If I can’t dance, don’t want to be a part of your revolution If I can’t dance, don’t see how we will change the institution Somebody tell me how so much joy can be a waste of time? When we all really need to shine Come what may we have to keep on with our lives It we don’t sing how will we ever end the violence If we don’t sing I think we’re going to lose our world to silence Somebody tell me how holding on to fears will get us by? When there is so much that we have to try Come what may we have to open up our minds. If we don’t laugh I think we’re going to end up in frustration If we don’t laugh don’t see any room for our creation Somebody tell me why we spend so much time in all our pain? Our nerves can hardly take the strain Come what may we have to be thankful for our lives We must dance if we are going to make a revolution We must dance if we are ever going to find solutions Somebody tell me how change will ever come if we just stand by? Ignoring all the rhythms moving in our lives Come what may we have to keep on with our lives Come what may we have to open up our minds. Come what may we have to be thankful for our lives
